Showtime has a couple of ShoBox cards in August but there are no Championship Boxing telecasts announced at the moment. The still not officially announced Floyd Mayweather vs. TBA (Andre Berto?) fight slated for September 12 at the MGM Grand is a little over seven weeks away. PPV dates starting to add up to big dollars for fans. Looking like Mayweather’s fight will be on Showtime PPV, not CBS. So we have a Mosley-Mayorga 2 PPV on August 29, a Floyd PPV on September 12, a Golovkin-Lemieux PPV on October 17 and a Cotto-Canelo PPV on November 21. Abraham now has Options Now that WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham is finally finished with Robert Stieglitz, there are possibilities of Abraham facing 50-year-old ring legend Bernard Hopkins or German rival Felix Sturm. Either one would be a big fight. Santa Cruz-Mares for WBC diamond belt The WBC Board of Governors has voted in favor of approving the “highly prestigious” WBC Diamond belt to the winner of the fight between Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz, which will take place in Los Angeles California, on August 29.
