Huge day yesterday in the markets. Just a massive day! I think we've got more downside.
This is my personal opinion. I think we are going to see a rally for maybe 4 to 7 days and that rally will probably take the Dow back up to 16,7s to 16,8s.
And I think at that point, we will see a collapse. I think the market is just going to dive.
And we may be sitting on at that point a massive selling opportunity of recent history, since 2008.
Watch closely today because I would not be surprised to see the start of a 3 to 7 day rally today.
So, we'll keep an eye on that and I'll update you over the course of the week as to whether I was right or I was wrong.
But I've been dead on with this market over the last couple of weeks.
The government hates monopolies for your benefit, as always.
Monopolies are never good, they say, because it's not right that you only have one choice. We need to have multiple choices but not too many choices because too many choices cause us stress and anxiety and all kinds of things that nobody likes. So we need more choice but not too many choices is the rationale they have.
We discussed on Friday that a monopoly cannot exist in a free economy as a permanent state of being. Meaning that, you cannot have a monopoly that's untoppable. You cannot have a company that is so large, that is so powerful, that it can squash all of its opponents and then control the entire market without some sort of government intervention.
The only way that a monopoly is allowed to exist is if there is simply no competition.
Monopolies are not an issue. The only issue is when that company controls through legislation is given an unfair advantage to compete in the marketplace.
There is no way for a monopoly to exist in a free market economy unless they are offering the absolute highest quality product at the lowest possible market value.
More Speedy Google Fiber Coming? Cox Goes Gigabithttp://news.investors.com/technology/101314-721487-google-fiber-expansion-expected-cox-launches-gigabit-service.htm
Google's gigabit gambit could soon rattle more of the nation's broadband service providers.
The Internet giant is expected to announce by year-end the expansion of its high-speed broadband Internet service into more U.S. markets. Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has been in talks with 34 cities and suburbs in nine U.S. markets to expand its Google Fiber service, which provides Internet access at speeds of 1 gigabit per second (Gbps). That's roughly 100 times faster than what most U.S. households get on average.
Google has already built out fiber-optic networks in parts of Kansas City, Mo., Kansas City, Kan., Austin, Texas and Provo, Utah. The company is in talks with governments in Phoenix, Portland, Ore., San Jose, Calif., Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Nashville, Tenn., Atlanta and North Carolina's Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham.
The cost savings is massive. What's happening is Google is that thing. They are looking at the marketplace and seeing the bad quality of service out there. They are laying down their own fiber lines, offering a better product and will potentially break the monopoly current providers have right now.
The monopoly that Time Warner, Cox, Comcast have had in their respective areas is now under fire because Google is on it's way in.
Look at what competition does. If you leave the free market alone, the free market will take care of itself.

AP Exclusive: California Gives No-Bid Health Pactshttp://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/ap-exclusive-california-bid-health-pacts-26137734
California's health insurance exchange has awarded $184 million in contracts without the competitive bidding and oversight that is standard practice across state government, including deals that sent millions of dollars to a firm whose employees have long-standing ties to the agency's executive director.
Let me explain to everybody what a no bid contract is to anybody who doesn't know. A no bid contract is nothing more than the government selecting who they're going to have do the work and then saying, bill the government whatever you want.
The government is going to have problems when you try to do a merger between Time Warner and Comcast because they are worried about you, the American people, and having enough free choice and not creating monopolies in our free market system. Yet, every single day, the government creates monopolies for companies through no-bid contracts.
The hypocrisy in our government is unmatched.
Mexico Protesters Torch Local Government Headquartershttp://time.com/3504606/mexico-protesters-torch-local-government-headquarters/
Enraged teachers and students demand the return of 43 students who disappeared after a gang-connected police attack on Sept. 26
Protesters looted and burned part of the government headquarters in Mexico’s Guerrero state during demonstrations demanding the return of 43 students who have been missing since a gang-connected police attack a few weeks ago.
No injuries were reported as the invading group of teachers and students allowed workers to leave before torching the complex, but five teachers and two police officers have been wounded in previous clashes between protesters and police, Agence France-Presse reports.
The real purpose behind this discussion is that most of the people who are protesting in Ferguson did not care one iota about Michael Brown. They saw it as an excuse to rob, cheat, and steal. And its the same in South St. Louis. They don't know any idea about the facts of the case and they don't care. All they care about is being out there to protest their ideology and demand justice.
President Obama Urges More ‘Robust Commitments’ to Combat Ebolahttp://www.voanews.com/content/president-obama-urges-more-robust-commitments-to-combat-ebola/2482971.html
U.S. public health officials are “rethinking” the way they address effective Ebola infection control following the first U.S. case of the deadly virus in Texas.
Speaking with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon by phone, Obama agreed on the need for more “robust commitments and rapid delivery of assistance” to West Africa “to stop the epidemic at its source.”
Ebola Is Coming. A Travel Ban Won't Stop Outbreakshttp://www.forbes.com/sites/jvchamary/2014/10/13/ebola-travel/
Simply put: you can’t seal the country. If you blocked air travel, it would force desperate individuals to use alternative routes – over land and sea – to escape the epidemic. They’ll still end up in the US, except you won’t know where.
An attempted travel ban would be like locking yourself in a cabin on a sinking ship and praying the flood doesn’t seep through the gaps, and that the water pressure won’t be enough to burst through the door.
CDC Chief: Why I don't support a travel ban to combat Ebola outbreakhttp://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/10/09/cdc-chief-why-dont-support-travel-ban-to-combat-ebola-outbreak/
A travel ban is not the right answer. It’s simply not feasible to build a wall – virtual or real – around a community, city, or country. A travel ban would essentially quarantine the more than 22 million people that make up the combined populations of Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea.
When a wildfire breaks out we don't fence it off. We go in to extinguish it before one of the random sparks sets off another outbreak somewhere else.
We don't want to isolate parts of the world, or people who aren't sick, because that's going to drive patients with Ebola underground, making it infinitely more difficult to address the outbreak.
Pentagon calls climate change a matter of ‘national security’http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/10/13/pentagon-calls-climate-change-matter-national-security/
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Monday described climate change as a national security threat -- at a time when the U.S. military is battling the Islamic State in the Mideast, responding to the Ebola crisis in West Africa, and monitoring tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
The Defense secretary addressed the issue during a speech in Peru, as the Pentagon released a comprehensive report on the "national security" challenges posed by rising global temperatures and "extreme weather events."
Hagel described climate change as a "threat multiplier," saying it "has the potential to exacerbate many of the challenges we already confront today -- from infectious disease to armed insurgencies -- and to produce new challenges in the future."
The Pentagon's new report maps out four areas of climate change deemed the most threatening to the U.S. military -- rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, more extreme weather and rising sea levels. And it warns about the impact they could have on food and water supplies, the environment and American security itself.
"Our militaries' readiness could be tested, and our capabilities could be stressed," Hagel said, addressing a conference of military leaders.
