Navasha Daya, born and reared in Cleveland Ohio, has evolved into a cornucopia of creative manifestations; she shares her talents with the world as a musician, entertainer, voice teacher, choreographer, certified healer, ordained minister, and scholar. Although offered a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, she decided to attend Morgan State University and earned her B.S. degree with honors in music education in 1998. Best known as the lead singer of the Soulful Jazz group Fertile Ground, Navasha has performed on stages throughout the world for hundreds of thousands of adoring music lovers, sharing the stage with Chaka Khan, Rachelle Farrell, Erykah Badu, Hugh Masekela, Jill Scott, Angelique Kidjo, India.Arie, Bilal, Common, Zap Mama, Earl Klue, Joan Baes, Michael Franti of Spearhead, Anthony Hamilton, Cassandra Wilson, and countless other talented artists. As a songwriter, Navasha’s compositions have been remixed by the world’s top DJs and producers and have been released as recordings throughout the world. Absolutely adored by the audiences of Japan. She is currently touring with Zap Mama, in the studio recording with the accapella all female Black Native-American singing group Three Generationz , and embarking on her own solo project.
