What a year that has been! Our constant companion which shows no real signs of ending anytime soon has caused fundamental changes in VW's direction as a company. To read what has happened over the last year click here.#DIESELGATE ENGINEER PLEA BARGAINVW engineer, James Liang, has submitted a plea bargain with US authorities and confessed that he, along with others, was guilty of perpetrating the defeat device on diesel engines. To read more of what has been revealed click here.EU INVESTIGATES COMPENSATION DUE FROM VWThe EU is investigating whether consumers in Europe are due compensation following the #dieselgate affair. This continues to rile and irk Andrew and Alan, as Volkswagen have not been proven to have contravened any legislation or law. Until that time, the chaps are at a loss as to what people will be compensated for. This idea behind the vehicle came from Sir Torquil Norman, which Gordon Murray has made real. The Ox is intended to enable mobility in developing countries. The vehicle can be flat-packed for transportation and assembled, by three people, in approximately 12 hours. To read about it from Gordon Murray click here. There is also an article from @MR_AndrewBrady which you can read by clicking here. Both Alan and Andrew really like this and announced they would happily test the vehicle by touring Britain in one if this is required. They will now wait for Gordon Murray to get in touch.AMPERA-E NOT COMING TO UKVauxhall announced that the Ampera-E, known as the Chevrolet Bolt in the US, will not be coming to the UK as it has not been designed for right-hand-drive. Whilst Andrew is disappointed by this development and bemoans short-sighted management, Alan tries to bring a modicum of balance by discussing what it would entail and cost to bring it here. The new season starts soon too, with the first round in Hong Kong on 9 October 2016.F1 SOLD SORT OFAs seems to be F1's penchant, something as momentous and potentially rejuvenating as being sold has descended into a farce. There is an excellent article explaining what is or isn't going on, to read it click here.
