Our thankful thought for today is this: Hope is the expectation that something good is going to happen. As children, we have mighty doses of hope. But sometimes, somewhere on the journey to adulthood, we lose that feeling of anticipation and expectation. We allow negative situations to take away that sense of hope. However, whatever we expect to happen, can and often does happen. Therefore, if we expect good and anticipate good, eventually good will come. So, today, if you are in a tight spot, have hope that you will get through it. If you're in a good spot, have hope that you will get to a better one. We can all be thankful for hope.
Our quote of thanks is from Faith Baldwin. She said, "I have learned over a period of time to be almost unconsciously grateful--as a child is--for a sunny day, blue water, flowers in a vase, a tree turning red. I have learned to be glad at dawn and when the sky is dark. Only children and a few spiritually evolved people are born to feel gratitude as naturally as they breathe, without even thinking. Most of us come to it step by painful step, to discover that gratitude is a form of acceptance."
Our Bible verse of thanks is Colossians 2:7. It reads, "Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."
