On this edition of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we have two great guests! Our featured interview is with Maggie Campbell of Privateer Rum and the American Craft Spirits Association (and many other things!). We also chat with Leah Hoyt, president of the New Orleans Concierge Association.

NOLADrinks Show – Maggie Campbell of Privateer Rum and Leah Hoyt of the NOLA Concierge Association – Apr20Ep2 We kick the show off letting you know about our two guests and a couple thoughts on the coronavirus situation.
Then, we have our first interview. We’re joined by phone by Leah Hoyt, president of the New Orleans Concierge Association and Where Traveller’s Silver Plume Concierge of the Year for 2019. We discuss the role of a concierge and what part the association plays in our hospitality landscape.
Leah also lets us know some thoughts and insights on how her concierge and hotel colleagues are feeling as we move through this crisis. Like many, especially in NOLA’s hospitality industry, they have been drastically affected. She, herself, was furloughed recently. Of course, as you might expect, Leah and her peers are ready to welcome everyone back to New Orleans as soon as they can!

Next up, we have our featured interview with a person of many talents (and that’s an understatement!) – Maggie Campbell. Among other things, Maggie is the president and head distiller of Privateer Rum, she serves as vice president of the board for the American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA), and is standing for the Master of Wine certification. (We’re leaving other things out here – you can hear it in the interview!)
We discuss Privateer Rum and, importantly, what they have done to adapt to the coronavirus situation as a responsible business. We also chat about the ACSA and what they do to support and advocate for craft spirits producers in the US, including during this time.
