The Jimmy Sengenberger Show: Rep. Janak Joshi discusses his "killed" Obamacare bills and FDA efforts, Cato'... description
As Obamacare flounders in Colorado, State Rep. Janak Joshi (HD-16) has put forth three bills to rein in the law, but all of them were "killed" by the Democratic House Majority. And now even the American Medical Association, which backed Obamacare, is extremely concerned about it. Rep. Joshi discusses these issues as well as his bill to permit terminally ill patients to receive treatment the FDA doesn't want them to have. Then Ilya Shapiro, senior fellow in constitutional studies at the Cato Institute and a supporter of gay marriage, has co-filed a brief in favor of U.S. Supreme Court review of the New Mexico gay marriage photograph lawsuit, defending the photography small business that has been fined for expressing their First Amendment rights. Ilya joins us to discuss the importance of freedom of speech as "anti-discrimination" is on the rise. Finally, Jimmy debates Prof. Stephen Nuño on race and poverty in America. The duo respond to a recent article claiming that Republicans engage in "code talk" and "dog whistling" which plays into racism that is "hard-wired into the country."
