St. Louis Police: 17 Protesters Arrested After They Threw Rocks at Cops, Tried to ‘Storm’ Convenience Storehttp://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/12/st-louis-police-17-protesters-arrested-after-they-threw-rocks-at-cops-tried-to-storm-convenience-store/
Seventeen protesters were arrested in a convenience store parking after “attempting to storm” the business and “throwing rocks” at police early Sunday morning, St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said.
QuikTrip is awesome. This is what I don't understand. Every time I go to a QuikTrip, it's like a convenient store and gas station all in one. And they're all nice so you don't have to worry about some dingy hole in the wall place.
It's always the nicest convenient store and gas station around.
After the Ferguson shooting, the first thing that they did was they found the nicest gas station slash convenient store that they could and they burned it to the ground.
As I've always said, I've been in the Middle East a lot of years, and one of the worst about it is everything good that they have, they destroyed. They tear it down. The music, culture, education, construction, design, they just destroy all of it.
And what is very difficult for me to understand is why, if you're upset, do you destroy your own.
Why do you do that?
Dotson tweeted several times about the activities of protesters gathered at the QuickTrip parking lot amid a four-day summit in St. Louis to protest the early August police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
What Dotson is doing is he is using the media to update people on exactly what's happening, the play by play. Here's what's happening right now. Here's what we've done. Here's what actions we're taking.
And he's doing it, it's a CYA thing. He's doing it to cover his own butt because he knows if he doesn't keep a clear record, if he doesn't stay on top of it, nobody is supporting him.
Every single news organization is out there filming and waiting for the police to screw up. Waiting for the police to overstep their bounds.
Here we got rioters who are now storming another QuikTrip, trying to burn down and destroy another good thing that they have in their community. The owner of which who has done nothing wrong. All he does is let people pump gas and provide great service for when you stop in.
Now, what Dotson is doing is he's just protecting himself. But the media won't even let him get away with that. The media is blaming now, blaming Dotson, for flaming tensions by posting the Twitter updates.
Have you heard one news outlet complain about the protesters flaming racial tensions?
You talk about the pot calling the kettle black here, this is shameful. I just don't understand why everybody hates QuikTrips. QuikTrips are awesome. Why don't you go tear down a government building? If you're going to camp out and destroy something, destroy something that has little value.
I can guarantee one office that they won't be tearing down, the unemployment office. I guarantee that won't be happening because too many of them are going to have to show up on Monday to get their checks.
This has nothing to do with a Black teen getting shot. This has to do with people in that town looking for an excuse to rob, cheat, steal and hurt people. That's what it was designed to do.
And while there may have been a small segment who were truly upset over this young boy getting killed, most of them just saw it as an excuse to go out and raise hell. And, they should be punished.
My views of police officers
And I'm very wary of police officers. I don't particularly care for the amount of credibility. Police officers are given a certain amount of authority and also, some of the things that they say are accepted at face value because they are police officers.
So they are suppose to be held to a higher standard. But they're also given a great deal of leeway because they're police officers. I think that much of that leeway is unnecessary, that it shouldn't be happening.
And the reason for that is I've seen, I'm intimately involved with police departments. I know them. I've worked with cops and the 80/20 rule still applies. A cop is given a lot of authority and with that authority should come a massive amount of responsibility. So I am very critical and a proponent of a massive amount of oversight on those people that we give that amount of authority to.
At the same time, those police officers are there to do something.
The police officers in Ferguson were so scared of having another incident, they allowed their own community to burn to the ground. They allowed people who support them, that pay taxes, business owners who are there expecting their support, police stood by and watched their cities, their towns, their businesses be raided.
Where they should have stepped in, they stood silent. And there is a time where the police step in and you just grab that baton and you whip out that asp and you start beating some you know what. And you haul some people off to jail.
We have the freedom of speech in this country. You have the freedom to assemble. You have the freedom to voice your opinion and your anger. But you don't have the right to go out and burn down your neighbors house because you're upset at the way the government acts. You don't get to do that.
Cops rarely prevent crime.
The only time I ever see a cop is when he's pulling me over for speeding. It's the only time. Cop beats on the street can reduce crime but a cop cannot be there to prevent crime in most cases.
Most of the time, he's arriving to take a report and to go find the guy who did it or after the domestic violence issue ensues to show up, after a beating has taken place, to haul one person off to jail.
Unfortunately, that's the nature of police work, to track down criminals after the crime is committed. The preventative nature of what they do is minimal.
And what frustrates me is that when you get a situation like this, where the cops have a chance to prevent crime, they stand idly by, they stand silent.
And in this case, in this particular case, St. Louis PD said no!
We're not going to let you storm this QuikTrip, we're not going to let you destroy our community because you're angry. And for that, Mr. Dotson is considered one of the problems. He's the problem. He's the reason why racial tensions are so high.
Just absolutely shameful.

‘A Private Hospital in a Red State’: MSNBC Host Lays Blame for ‘Spread of Ebola’ in U.S.http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/10/12/a-private-hospital-in-a-red-state-msnbc-host-lays-blame-for-spread-of-ebola-in-u-s/
Joy Reid is the latest host to perpetuate this cycle of punditry that exists in news media today. Virtually every news outlet has become pundit centric. All opinions.
To the anti-government wingers in my thread: so far, the only "spread of Ebola" in the U.S. was caused by a private hospital in a red state.
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) October 12, 2014
Leave it to Joy Reid and MSNBC to politicize ebola death. Nobody else has had the moxie. And I give her credit because she's shameless. It doesn't matter or change the that the ebola patient flew to Dallas.
She just has no business of being on television. But to make the claim that those patients with ebola, that people contracted and died from ebola because it was a private hospital in a red state shows either a partisanship that should not exist at MSNBC. It just shows such a lack of class and just how partisan MSNBC is.
The right way to take out ISIS is a large-scale raidhttp://nypost.com/2014/10/12/the-right-way-to-take-out-isis-is-a-large-scale-raid/
This campaign of large-scale raids would likely be more costly and take months, but it’s preferable to armed nation-building, where body bags stream back for years.
It is likely that when driven from the occupied areas, ISIS’ people will disperse and try to consolidate elsewhere. We have to plan for that; you can destroy an army, but not an ideology. We may need to attack them again elsewhere sometime.
Here's how you win the war. You bring in a massive amount of fire power to bear. Anywhere they exist, you decimate them. You run through a massive ground and bombing campaign.
Then when they scatter and retreat to the villages, you go to the villager, and you say 'Listen, do you have any ISIS members hiding here?' 'No, we don't have any ISIS members hiding here.' Then you say, 'Ok, we trust you. Here's what we're going to do. We know that you guys need water, food, support so we're going to do that for you. We're going to leave a contingent of people in this town to help protect you guys against ISIS.'
'But this is my warning to you. If we find that you're harboring ISIS members in your village, we are going to burn your village to the ground.' 'ISIS will not stand.'
That is the type of mentality will get you what you want. Now you might think that is hardcore and that no politician will ever go for it. But that is why we'll continue this round about fight that we have over how we're going to deal with the ISIS threat. Bombings but no ground troops, ground troops but rules of engagement that won't allow us to go into villages.
The way you win a guerrilla war, you go in and you say 'you think ISIS is scary? Wait until you cross me. I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. You choose.'
War is an evil thing. It's a vile act. And personally, I dislike it immensely. If you are going to go to war, then you better be willing to win. You better do what's necessary to win. And what's necessary to win is not pretty. It's not fun. It's not cute. The only outcome that's acceptable is victory. We do whatever is necessary to win.
$5.4B Pledged Toward Gazahttp://www.voanews.com/content/us-pledges-212-miliion-dollars-for-rebuilding-gaza/2481071.html
Palestinian leaders say they need $4 billion to restore large portions of the territory that were destroyed during the 50-day war between Hamas and Israel that ended in August.
Ahead of the conference, officials expressed concerns about giving money without a lasting cease-fire agreement in place.
What happened? The Palestinians decided they were going to send rockets over the line into Israel. Israel is our greatest ally in the Middle East. Our greatest ally. And we supported them and back them over the years. But it seems like at every single turn, we give lip service to Israel while we support the people who wish to do them harm.
